My passion lies in helping small companies and charities to use software successfully to support their growth.

I love seeing people gain confidence in what they are doing, and I get excited by geeky things like efficient processes and well-run organisations.
My Story
My background
I began my career as a techie in a FTSE 100 company – graduate trainee, software developer, business analyst, project manager. Then a team manager responsible for supporting dozens of small applications. I learned the value of processes and focusing on the return on investment. And I spent a lot of time developing the skills of junior staff, in Liverpool and offshore.

​Then I downsized into a small software business. Within a year, I was promoted from Implementation Manager to Managing Director. Suddenly I needed new skills:

managing and improving the commercial position of the company

fighting fires but also making time for strategic thinking

creating a vision for a long-term future

improving our operational efficiency

tracking performance and setting targets for each department, including sales and marketing

managing the direction and roadmap for our software

Cue a crash course in strategic and financial directorship…and then years refining what really matters and training up a newly promoted management team to understand the impact of their decisions. Resulting in Investors for People Silver award at the first attempt, and nomination for the Wirral Business Award for People Development.

My 30 years of experience spans multiple business sectors and hundreds of software systems. I will reduce the risks inherent in any major change – either hands-on or training your own teams for success.
