Personal shopper

Many organisations are running on software they put in place years ago, even though the operations have outgrown it.  Or perhaps important processes are still on spreadsheets which are creaking under the weight of expectations.

If growth is held back because nobody has the time or the skills to find the right solution for your business, talk to me.

I will provide recommendations to suit your goals, staff profile and budget.  I have wide experience of Microsoft, Google, CRMs, management reporting, and sector-specific software.  Market research a speciality.

Once you decide, you can take it from there, or I can manage the implementation and rollout for you.

Optimisation

Could your current software work better for you?

Many organisations don't want to replace their software, but they know it is not being used to its full potential, or the users are devising complex workarounds.

I will review your current IT landscape, and amend your software configuration to streamline your operations, saving time and reducing errors.

I can cleanse your current data, or import it from other systems.  And I can add integrations to keep your systems aligned and reduce wasted time spent rekeying information.  Or I can manage a bigger change programme, to adapt your culture and embed better working practices.

Possibilities depend on the specific software and its options or limitations.  But this is often a cheaper course than starting again, and is less disruptive to your business.

Training

Training

When YouTube is too generic and you need to improve adherence to policies alongside the IT training.

Jargon-free training customised to train staff and volunteers to become confident in following your processes correctly using your software.

Any combination of step by step guides, videos (with or without interactive elements), self-paced online lessons, classroom training, online workshops or one to one mentoring.

Examples: Using Microsoft Office tools effectively, transitioning from Google to Microsoft, Hubspot or Zoho CRM, ChurchSuite and other sector-specific or software.  Or I will learn your in-house system and help implement good practice using it.

Low code

Low code development

Many small organisations don’t want to accept “off the shelf” software that doesn’t fully support their processes, and yet bespoke development is well beyond their budget. Fortunately, there is now a third option that can save up to 80% of the cost of traditional development.

“Low code” refers to a new generation of software tools that allow much faster development by handling a lot of the complex back-end automatically. A task that takes 10 days using traditional methods may be completed in 2 days.

This translates into much lower development costs.  It also allows more iterative development cycles.  So if you aren't sure exactly what you need, you can build up gradually and make changes easily.

Ongoing maintenance is also cheaper, and in-house staff can be trained to make simple changes themselves.

Alongside the app, dashboards and reports provide live management information.  And you can easily include portals for your customers, service users or suppliers.

Having worked in traditional software development for many years, I love low code for its speed and simplicity. Although there are a few limitations, these can usually be overcome with a creative approach, and it provides a far higher return on investment.
